Following a successful career as drummer, co-writer and founding member for RCA/Kneeling Elephant Records rock artist Gloritone, and touring drummer for Skunk recording artist Slightly Stoopid, Dan switched gears. Energized and motivated after touring throughout America and traveling the Caribbean, Dan launched Dano's Island Sounds. Highlighting the steel pan and incorporating a crowd pleasing blend of original compositions, traditional Caribbean melodies, and pop cover songs Dano's Island Sounds entertains audiences of all ages throughout Southern California.

Education: Attended Phoenix College as a music performance major, toured with the Jazz ensemble playing drum-set, and with the Concert band and Orchestra playing snare drum and percussion. Studied drum-set with educator/clinician Dom Moio and recording artist Danny Tomlinson from the Lyle Lovett Band. Focus of study: Advanced rudimentary drumming, hand technique, chart reading, jazz concepts, and world rhythms. Studied tenor steel pan, Calypso music, and applied music theory, with percussionist James “JT” Taylor. Currently a Member of Sol e mar Samba school studying and performing bateria drumming. Attend yearly educational retreat at Cazadero, CA California Brazil Camp to experience Brazilian music and culture firsthand.
